Terms of service

Effective 1 October 2026

This is a starting point, not legal advice. Trace ships this document so an installation is not published without terms. Whoever operates this install should have it reviewed against their own jurisdiction and business before relying on it. Edit it under Platform → Legal.

1. Who this agreement is with

This service is operated by the organization named on the sign-in page. In this document, "we" means that organization and "you" means the account holder and anyone using the service through that account.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

Accounts are organised into teams. Anyone you invite to a team can see the documentation belonging to it, subject to the role you give them.

3. Your content

Photographs, video, reports, notes and every other record you create remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.

You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service — to store, process, transmit and display your content back to you and to people you share it with.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to store unlawful material, to infringe anyone's rights, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, or to interfere with its operation.

5. Sharing

Share links grant access to whoever holds them. You are responsible for who you send them to. Links can be expired, revoked and rotated at any time.

6. Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, upgrades and events outside our control may cause downtime.

7. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and export your data before you do. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the application, and the effective date above will change.
